Villa 106 - We had an extremely enjoyable stay at the villa! We visited the villa in December 2011 as a party of 8 friends, and if we were to ever return to Samui again, we would most certainly want to stay there again. At the end of the trip we missed the villa very much, and my friends told me they found themselves looking at the photographs wishing our trip was longer - and planning when we can come back!
The airport transfer:
The villa staff was there waiting at the airport pick up zone, as promised, and there was someone at the villa to meet and greet us and show us around, introduce us to the villa staff (Mr Chai and his wife), and pass us a villa mobile phone with a prepaid calling card.
Location:
The villa was set on top of a really steep hill. It was like a roller-coaster ride in the van to get there! Up and down 45 degree slopes. This is going to sound funny, but my ears kept popping from pressure change every morning when we went down the hill to explore samui. I wouldn't recommend walking up and down the hill, as there are a lot of turns and steep climbs, but hey, if you love hiking you might enjoy it. While we were there, we made all our trips out by taxi-bus, which Mr Chai would just call and arrange for us with the villas regular drivers. Travelling out to nearby Bophut Fishermen's village cost us about 1,000 Baht (return) and a little further out to Lamai cost us 1,400 baht (return). But the drivers were dependable and quite easy going. We called them on the mobile whenever we were ready to head back, and once we wanted to visit the local supermarket so he dropped us off at one nearby and waited 45minutes for us by the road, and he was totally cool with it.
The Villa:
The villa rooms were spacious and clean, and the views from every room were beautiful. We could see the sun rise in the morning and the moon rise at night - every day. It's really beautiful at night, especially since we all grew up in the City of Singapore. We've never seen a moon so big and bright, and it casts a beautiful shine over the Bophut area, a great photo opportunity. The villa also had a pool side sound system, so bringing an ipod to connect via an audio jack would be a good idea!
The design of the villas was contemporary and the furniture was comfortable and clean. Because it was December, it was drizzling every day, so we didn't get to use the pool much as it was freezing (by our standards)! At that time of the year I suppose, winds are really chilly at the top of the hill, so we spent most of the time by the pool side enjoying a slow-tan.
The villa's staff Mr Chai and wife were a real plus to the villa. They were warm and friendly and truly pampered us. They really made us feel welcomed and whenever we needed something like a forgotten toothbrush, Chai would zip off on his scooter to help us get one from the store. They cooked us breakfast every morning, and cooked lunch and dinner for us upon request. Every day we would discuss a menu with Chai, and he will give us an estimated price, we hand him cash, and he zips off to buy the ingredients and even returned us the change with receipts!
With wifi throughout the villa, we did not have any problem communicating with them what kind of thai foods we wanted to try that was off the in-house menu, as we could just google up images, show it to them, and they would skillfully put the meal together, and even gave us a little cooking demonstration! Every meal was decorated beautifully, with little tomato roses and designs cut into carrots and cucumbers - really impressive for the effort put into every meal!
We were also plied with an endless supply of orange and pineapple juices, and bottled mineral water. At one point Nick appeared in the villa to check how we were, and asked us if we were ok with the mineral water brand they supplied. I think it was a language mis-communication with Chai and wife that got them thinking that we didn't like the taste of their brand of mineral water. But we were really surprised that they offered to switch it to another brand just to make us happy!

Villa 106 - We had an excellent vacation in Koh Samui.. The villa was amazing and had great views of the Bo Phut and the surrounding coastline.. From the first moment we arrived the staff were exceptional and very welcoming.. I have stayed in the very best 5 star hotels around the world and this would definitely rank amongst those.. This was the first time that I actually booked a private villa and can honestly say that I'm totally converted..
The Villa Chef cooked most of our meals which were of the highest quality we pretty much didn't eat out at all given the exceptional value for money.. (just the price of groceries plus 15% change)..
This villa would be great for all groups family or friends.. Our group consisted of 5 guys and we were treated like Kings during our stay I really don't have a bad word to say.. The only issue we encountered was the Hot Tub was not actually working and hasn't even been connected to the mains.. However given the size of our infinity pool the disappointment soon abated..
Location is amazing forget about the beach and enjoy the villa - 10mins to fishermans village and 20mins to chewang nightlife.. Group taxi's are very reasonable but don't expect Bangkok prices there's a set premium on Koh Samui and the prices are fairly consistant..
Anyone thinking about booking should have already booked...
Thanks from all the Guys..
