A unique villa for lovers of the non-traditional and "green" approach to tropical living welcomes you instantly with its stamp of style, openness, bright white angled walls, large glass windows - and gently sloping roofs, on the top of which and through which grass and tropical plants grow in profusion. This innovative architectural feature is just one used here in this environmentally friendly property: the roof plantings produce a natural cooling system, plus water collection and preservation and a high level of blending in with the natural jungle foliage around the villa. The use of large opening glass windows at the front of the villa creates passive cooling techniques for natural ventilation, thus reducing the need to use the air conditioning.

All the rooms have air conditioning and fans, but this is a naturally cool and comfortable home. On the more mundane level, there is free Wi-Fi Internet broadband throughout the house, and each bedroom and the living room have TV/DVD/CD systems.

As you approach the villa, through a stone-walled driveway, you immediately see how different this holiday destination is. Set amongst the green tropical luxuriant mountainside, the angles of the building, its triangles and flat roofs, all glass walls and the startling whiteness - breathtaking! The entrance steps lead you through a garden area up to the grey slate-tiled infinity pool, pointing directly at the sea view, and enfolded by this stunning L-shaped building. The whole villa is elevated on this level adding to the feeling of privacy.

The main living area is a triangular shape, and the front wall is made of large glass windows and doors. It fronts the infinity edge pool and so enjoys the great views out to sea. The interior decor is cool, natural and chic, and the use of stone, wood, light fabrics and leather makes this a spectacular modern environment, reminiscent of a great Hollywood star's home.

From the outside you will have realised that this property does not like straight walls or level ceilings! The first thing you see to the left as you enter the seating area of the living room is a wood panelled sloping wall featuring a large flat-screen TV and the entertainment system, set on black granite, and above it the contrasting white ceiling is angled at 45 degrees. The far wall to the side of the TV unit is made of natural stone and is positioned half inside and half outside the huge glass doors which line the rear of the room. These doors open into a stunning indoor garden and pond area with a stone wall at the rear.

There is a group of neat white leather sofas and chairs, dotted with bright blue cushions, arranged around a chrome and glass coffee-table, and positioned for the view out to the pool and the ocean, or the TV.

Beyond the lounge is the dining space where there is a wooden-topped chrome dining table with white chairs and beyond that a grey brick and black granite island feature, which leads into the stylish fully-fitted western style kitchen. Behind this is a further staff kitchen and also in this main living space there is a guest bathroom.

The high ceiling of the living room rises to the point of the triangle, and creates a huge open space. Along the back you can see the first floor gallery which leads to the bedroom suites and is itself reached via a white stone staircase encased in glass which takes you up towards the back wall and around into the atrium.

As you reach the top of the stairs, there is a study in front of you. This room doubles as work space or relaxing area in which to read or just enjoy the views, as nestled between white shelving on the back wall and the desk is a cluster of white leather seats.

A hallway to the right leads to an en-suite double bedroom, decorated in a similar contemporary style to mirror the rest of the property. The bathroom has twin hand basins, a walk-in shower and a sunken Terrazzo bathtub. The two further bedroom suites are located in the other part of the villa, which runs at right angles to the open-plan lounge, kitchen, and dining room.

Along the length of the pool runs a pathway with sloping stone screens on one side and access to the villa's second and third en-suite bedrooms on the opposite side. These poolside rooms are both similar in design and layout to the previous bedroom, and their en suites also have sunken Terrazzo bathtubs.

Outside, there is a white stone terrace surrounding the pool which is furnished with sun loungers - perfect for sunbathing and enjoying the views - and further on a well manicured lawn planted with beautifully scented Frangipani trees and local tropical plants encircles the villa.
