It is a 35-minute drive to the island's international airport, but only 15 from the town of Lamai and a few minutes further to Chaweng, both popular centres offering first class restaurants and shopping opportunities.

On entering the property the first encounter is with an enormous expanse of lush green grass with tropical garden beds leading down to the sea. On the right is the tennis court and to the left the villa itself. Walk on into the grassy inner courtyard, which the five bedrooms of this home are built around.

There are a total of five fully air-conditioned bedroom suites; three are double bedrooms, all with king-size beds and two are twin-bedded. All bedrooms are beautifully furnished and accessorised, with large built-in wardrobes, and all have en suite bathrooms with covered outdoor showers. The master bedroom suite, with its stunning sea-views, also has a plasma TV and home cinema, as well as a large Jacuzzi tub in the en suite.

At the end of the central courtyard is the large open plan living, dining and kitchen area, with huge wrap-around folding doors that create a wall-less living space, letting the whole area become one with the sights, smells and sounds of the sea, only a step away. The living room also looks out over the large white-stone patio/BBQ area and the villa's swimming pool, with its adjacent salas. There is a flat-screen TV and Bose sound system in the lounge. The fully equipped western style gourmet kitchen can cater for all occasions, and the dining table has seating for 12 - the perfect environment for entertaining or relaxing away the days in this tropical haven.

The large sun terrace extending around the living space has sun loungers and parasols for comfortable relaxing, while the large infinity edge blue tiled pool just beyond the terrace is a few short steps from the sandy beach. The two salas near the pool and beach can be used for al fresco dining, as shady reading spots or for a Thai massage. There is a shower near the pool and the beach sala.

The villa's large tropical garden is ideal for entertaining or games, and depending on the time of year either sunrise or sunset views can be experienced from all parts of the villa and its grounds, with the nearby offshore islands making a stunning backdrop. In the summer low tide season the reef is dry for over 100m, allowing the beach and reef to be used for all sorts of other activities, such as volleyball, football or simply exploring the rock pools.
