5 Bedroom Beach Front Villa with Private Pool at Taling Ngam Samui

On the southwest coast of Koh Samui are some of the island's most tranquil, unspoilt and sandy beaches, and perched on the lower hillside right by a superb little cove is this stunning property, enjoying 180 degree views of the ocean, the Five Islands and Ang Thong National Marine Park. Each evening the sun provides spectacular sunset displays as a beginning to the night's entertainment. Within easy reach of all the amenities and interests that Koh Samui offers its visitors, it's 35 km from the International Airport on the other side of the island. The Santiburi Golf and Country Club is a 30 minute drive, and the ferry port of Nathon is 15 minutes away.

The villa is beautifully and comfortably furnished, and has air conditioning and Wi-Fi Internet access throughout. There is a Mac computer for guest use and a charging station for electronic devices. There are four king size en suite bedrooms and the dormitory has a twin bed en suite, and a children's ‘den' where up to 6 children under 12 can sleep on bunk or single beds. Each of the bedroom suites has its own balcony, personal safe, mini-bar, silent ceiling fan, 32" satellite TV/DVD/CD/iPod dock and hair dryer. Music from the in-house collection of thousands of tunes can be piped throughout the villa, and the mood can be set by the lighting, which again is changeable in every area of the estate. After an early evening sundowner for the adults while watching the sunset rays, why not enjoy the outdoor cinema, which has many DVDs from which to choose.

For those worried about too much lazing around on holiday, the fitness centre has 3 spin bikes, a Concept 2 rower and weights, and the 16.5m pool is designed for lap swimming. Plus there are road bikes to borrow for some gentle cycling, and 2 kayaks (life jackets available) for some paddling – and table tennis or croquet! There are plenty of things to keep the children happy too, starting off in the dormitory where the bright colours, porthole windows and hammocks create an exciting nautical theme. The outside play area includes the table tennis table, and indoors there is a music and TV system with children's DVDs, and a Wii game console, as well as more traditional toys such as Lego. And if they can stay awake after a day on the beach collecting shells, paddling and sand castle making, there's the outdoor cinema to enjoy!

Children are very welcome guests at this villa: there are baby cots, monitors, 2 baby baths and potties, bottle sterilising equipment, and their laundry is done - free of charge! Child safety is taken seriously here too, and there are 3 Safe-T-Turtle pool and water alarms (for wearing on children's wrists) available on request. The pool has a ledge and steps which provides a shallow paddling area for children. Stair gates can be fitted and the Koi pond closed off on request.

The entrance to this 3-storey villa is via the 4-vehicle parking courtyard, where a gateway leads to a bridge and into the formal living room on the first of the three levels of this property. The front of the property on all levels is glass walled, facing the ocean, and a central floating glass stairway, illuminated at night as a spectacular feature, connects the floors. The huge open plan living room to one side of the stairwell overlooks a pretty Koi fish pond and waterfall at the back, and there is a huge balcony to the front beyond the glass doors with sea view. It is furnished with large sofas facing the ocean and a cinema screen controlled by the entertainment system, which can also pipe music from its vast library throughout the property. The other side of the glass staircase is the dining room, where an enormous table can accommodate up to 20 guests. The fully equipped western style kitchen is to the rear of the dining room.

The lower floor has the 16.5m infinity-edge lap pool with Jacuzzi, and a furnished sun deck. There is a casual open-sided living area on this level too, and a dining area, with a kitchen, BBQ and bar, and a changing room. At the far side of the pool steps lead to a secluded and sunken massage terrace, and the croquet lawn is on the other side of the pool.

On the top floor there are two master bedroom suites. As well as features that all the adult suites enjoy, each has a spacious dressing room which could take a baby cot, and the en suite bathrooms have walk-in rain showers, an outdoor bathroom with either a double bath tub or a private garden shower. And one of the suites also has an open shower in the bedroom. The other two bedroom suites are in separate pavilions at pool level. Each has an indoor bathroom with bathtub and a shower and a teak wood terrace surrounding the pavilion. All four suites have king size beds, desks, wardrobes and glass walls opening onto the terraces.

There is another separate pavilion that includes the children's ‘retreat', which has 6 single bunk beds. There is an adjacent twin bedroom for extra guests, be they children or adults. The children's room and the 5th bedroom share an interconnecting shower bathroom. This pavilion has a teak wood terrace.

A stairway goes down through the wooded slope to the semi-private beach with a creek at the far end. The cove has been carefully managed to provide raised seating levels around the edges for sun bathing and resting, or watching movies on the outdoor cinema screen.
