The Five Islands Restaurant in Taling Ngam

The Five Islands Restaurant in Taling Ngam

For a truly memorable dining experience the ever popular Five Island's Restaurant in Taling Ngam is the perfect choice. Named after the five off-shore islands, this gorgeous restaurant is also a wedding venue, which is testament to the quality you can expect. Set back from the white beach sands and the turquoise sea and hidden under the shade of countless palm trees, this really is an idyllic location to relax and take in the blissful atmosphere.

The food here is really something special, the menu is very much Thai focussed, but with a twist–the classic Thai dishes here are fused with Western touches and clever quirks. The food is classy, cleverly executed and certainly worth the price. Enjoy your first cocktail on the beach tables and try some starters – classics like chicken satay, tempura prawns and spring rolls as well as one or two more unusual dishes such as pork brioche and flavoured oysters. If you do visit, try the pork on a bed of cabbage with a red wine sauce – or the seafood medley served inside a coconut shell. The Five Islands menu also includes a range of European dishes if you’re in the mood for something more comforting and homely.

The prices here are fair for the quality. The food and drinks are by no means cheap, but they are certainly reasonable, and as there is a range of different sized dishes you don’t have to spend a fortune to enjoy a lovely evening sampling some of the dishes on offer

Located on the islands southwest coast, it’s about a 30 minute drive from Chaweng and Bophut. Here you will find the atmosphere relaxing and peaceful amongst one of the few remaining un-developed areas of Koh Samui

The view is exquisite and you’ll feel truly spoilt. There is a bar area for after dinner drinks and socialising, which looks over the wide expanse of crystal-clear water and soft white sand. The restaurant opened in 2003, and the gardens that surround it are peaceful and minimalist in true Thai style, and home to some interesting stone carvings from around Asia, some dating back centuries, adding to the atmosphere. Sunsets over the Five Islands are some of the most serene and beautiful in the world, so make sure you time your visit to fit in with dusk.

With its international reputation and high standard, The Five Islands Restaurant comprises unique dishes, fresh ingredients, attentive staff and unbeatable surroundings, so you won’t want to miss out.
